Heroes: A set of personal inspirational posters

In 2018 I took a part-time job as an administrative assistant for the tutoring center at a small public Indiana University. The tutoring center was in the university's library, and every day, on my way to work, I walked past an arrangement of "Hero" posters on a library wall that celebrated a small group of intellectuals, scientists, inventors, and sports figures. After a few viewings, I started to think about who I would place on the wall if I was given the chance, and then decided to go ahead and design a small set of posters as an exercise for my design talents.

I decided to use black and white photos because color photography was limited or nonexistent for some of the subjects. I chose a background color, appropriate font, and created a vector pattern that was representative of each individual and their accomplishments. I wanted to pass on why each person was special to me so I composed a brief synopsis of what I thought were their most important accomplishments and finished each poster with a memorable quote.
